Charles Jones

Veteran television news reporter Charles Jones serves as the Vice President of Client Services for Wragg & Casas Public Relations, the largest independent public relations firm in Florida. Named the "2004 Up & Comer in Public Relations" by the South Florida Business Journal, Charles focuses on professional services marketing, media relations, public affairs, crisis communications and reputation management.

Business leaders often rely on Charles' skills as a media trainer to prepare for interviews, press conferences as well as public speaking and networking engagements. The National Conference of Black Mayors regularly invites Charles to design and lead sessions on media relations at the organization's annual Leadership Institute.

Charles is involved in several organizations throughout the community. He is on the Board of Directors for Help, Inc., a not-for-profit law firm that provides free legal services to families coping with AIDS and HIV, serves as Treasurer of the Brickell Area Association and is a member of the Board of Directors for After-School All-Stars.

Florida Trend magazine's "2004 Trendsetter in Public Relations and Marketing," Charles earned a bachelor of arts degree in Journalism and Mass Communications from the University of South Carolina where he was named the 2003 Black Alumnus of the Year.

Miami Today newspaper recently recognized Charles's commitment to community service with a 2004 Gold Medal Award. A member of the Leadership Miami Class of 2003, Charles created and served as chairman of an event to promote safe driving practices for Miami Dade County teenagers.

Before joining Wragg & Casas, Charles was a celebrated reporter for WFTV-TV in Orlando. He established the station's Osceola County bureau and was a member of the news team that earned an Edward R. Murrow Award for coverage of the Central Florida Wildfires in 1998. He has worked as a reporter/anchor in cities throughout the southeast and has covered regional stories for CNN, HBO, The Geraldo Rivera Show and The Florida News Network. He is an active member of the South Florida Black Journalists Association.
