RAY CASAS NAMED TO BOARD OF DIRECTORS FOR CAMILLUS HOUSE

MIAMI - July 2, 2002 - Ray Casas, principal of Wragg & Casas Public Relations, Inc., recently was named to the board of directors for Camillus House.

During his public relations career, Ray Casas has concentrated efforts in the areas of strategic planning and issues management, crisis counseling and communications for professional associations, public companies and business interests.

Ray Casas has managed communications services for attorneys and other professional firms, multi-national companies, large real estate developers, banks, food companies and hospitals. He headed the public relations program for the visit of Pope John Paul II to Miami and for the inaugural Carnaval Miami.

Prior to Wragg & Casas, he worked for 13 years at Hank Meyer Associates, Inc., where he was executive vice president. Earlier, he was a reporter for United Press International, the San Diego Evening Tribune and The Chicago Reporter. Casas serves on the board of directors of the Beacon Council, and is Chairman of the Archbishop’s Charities and Development (ABCD) for 2001-2002. He is a member of the Archbishop’s Development Council.

Casas is immediate past president of the executive committee of the Miami Lighthouse for the Blind. He is a member of the Asociación Interamericana de Hombres de Empresa (Interamerican Businessmen Association), the Latin Builders Association, and The University of Miami Public Relations Advisory Council, and is the firm’s trustee representative at The Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce. He is a member of the Counselors Academy of the Public Relations Society of America.

He holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in journalism from Northwestern University.

Camillus House has provided humanitarian services for those in need for 40 years, offering food, clothing, housing, medical care, substance abuse treatment, and social services of the homeless and underserved population of Miami-Dade County, Florida.
