Public Relations Account Coordinator/Executive

Wragg & Casas provides a full spectrum of communications services for multi-national companies, large real estate developers, health systems, construction firms, banks, educators, law firms, insurance companies, and nonprofit organizations.

It’s our mission to promote and protect their brands and reputations.  You will work along-side senior leadership to develop and execute creative media relations campaigns, community outreach campaigns and special events. Our diverse portfolio of services and client sectors will provide you with a broad exposure to all things PR and marketing.

We’re looking for someone who’s a content creator at heart as well as a great researcher and writer. A positive person, who stays on top of what is happening and follows trends. You’re also a news and social media junkie who works with a journalist’s mindset to increase visibility for clients on all platforms. No two days at Wragg & Casas are ever the same, but here’s an idea of what your work here might look like:

  • Contribute to brainstorming sessions for client and agency initiatives
  • Research topics and quickly grasp concepts
  • Write press releases, by-lined articles and blogs
  • Research media outlets and create targeted media lists
  • Track editorial calendars for pitching opportunities
  • Pitch story ideas or and news events to print, TV and radio journalists/producers
  • Assist clients with interviews
  • Research and develop community outreach plans including speaking engagements, awards and partnerships
  • Research, develop and place traditional and digital advertising
  • Track and analyze media coverage for the impact on clients
  • Be comfortable and professional as the point person on accounts
  • Assist with social media content
  • Write project summaries and case studies
  • Assist with writing proposals

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in English, journalism, public relations, marketing, business, or another related field
  • For Account Coordinators: Two internships or one year of experience in public relations
  • For Jr. and Sr. Account Executives: Two internships and/or 2 to 5 years of agency experience
  • Excellent writing and editing skills, lover of AP Style
  • Confident, well-spoken individual who is comfortable interacting with reporters/editors, cold call pitching and building relationships with media
  • Self-starter and a team player
  • Must be an avid consumer of all things media – news, social, blogs, video
  • Experience with B2B social media campaigns
  • Working knowledge of a variety of software and platforms: Meltwater, Canva, PPT, Microsoft Word, Excel, HootSuite, and other related social media tools
  • Bilingual a plus
